Himny i treny. Ukrainian heraldic and commemorative poetry of the 16th-18th centuries

The book «Himny i treny» collected translations of the texts of baroque heraldic poems, panegyrics and epitaphs into the modern Ukrainian language. The originals of these poems, written in Old Ukrainian, Latin, and Old Polish, were compiled by V. Shevchuk from various documentary sources: manuscripts, old printed editions, and ethnographic publications. Dedicated to the most prominent figures who had a significant impact on the cultural life of early modern Ukraine, these texts reflect the ideals and values that characterized the elite of Ukrainian society in the 16th – 18th centuries.
The  book  is  intended  for  teachers  and  students  of  all  humanities  specialties, a wide range of readers and fans of Ukrainian baroque poetry.
